- Meet Kate -
CEO & Founder, Kaitlyn "Kate" David began her love for event planning at the age of 15 when she worked as a birthday party planner at a local children's event venue in Mandeville, LA. While studying at Louisiana State University, Kate continued her passion for party coordination as the event planner for her Sorority, Pi Beta Phi, as well as an internship with Nottoway Plantation & Resort as a wedding assistant. Kate was later promoted to Director of Sales & Catering at Nottoway and was responsible for the planning and management of hundreds of weddings, meetings and special events ranging from elopements to high end weddings and music festivals.
After five amazing years, Kate's husband Salem, who is an F15 Fighter Pilot, received orders for a three year training program around the US. It was then that Kate left Nottoway and began her journey as a military spouse and a professional Southern Oregon pinot noir drinker, Jk... well sort of. During that time, Kate focused on learning everything she could about the event industry. She earned her CMP as a certified meeting planner, worked as a hotel sales team trainer and joined HelmsBriscoe as a Hotel & Meeting Specialist. She also worked with other planners on their national events and began traveling back and forth doing private parties and weddings for clients in Louisiana. When Kate returned back to New Orleans in early 2017, she was finally back in her element and took her vigor for coordination and design by full force. By combining both her years and diversity of experience in the event industry, Kate began growing Kate David Events into what it is today. With a passion for party planning and meeting new people, Kate loves connecting with clients from around the world and making their dreams a reality!
